Welcome to Living Supernaturally. We're so glad that you could be here to study God's word
together. It's always good to study God's word but it's even good to apply God's word and
experience the power of the truth of God's word in our lives. We just want to invite you to do
that as we study God's word, seek ways to apply it by faith and so that we can experience the
power of the truth of God's word which is there for us today. God's word- the Bible is full of
promises, there are thousands and thousands of promises and each of these promises are
made by God. There are many promises that God makes to man. Why does God make these
promises? Because He is the promise keeper and He wants to see the fulfillment of these
promises in our lives. We see that these promises are conditional that we need to be faithful,
we need to be in faith and we need to walk in faith despite things happening to the contrary
right before us. There could be mountains, there could be the enemies and enemies of God
bringing things against us but as we walk in faith, we will see the fulfillment of God's promises
in our lives. And so, we are looking at one such promise where God speaks to Israel and He
does this through the prophet Isaiah and God is assuring them/ promising them of His
protection during difficult times. These promises highlight or emphasize God's faithfulness
during times of trial. So, we look at Isaiah chapter 43 and verse 2, where God says, ‘when you
pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.’ The
Lord is talking about situations/ circumstances in our lives where even our life is threatened,
when everything that we hold dear to, it seems on the brink of us losing it, the Lord promises
that when you pass through the waters, even the waters that seem to sweep us away and the
Lord says "I will be with you and when you go through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
Your life will not be put in danger because I will be with you." Now there are things that we can
do when we encounter such promises. We can look at it and say "Oh God, I look at some
regrets, something that has happened in the past and how can I receive it by faith?" Yes, it's
true, there are too many factors why certain things did happen or did not happen. But today,
when we look at the word of God, we can look at it afresh. When we look at the promise of
God, we can look at it through the eyes of faith and say "Lord, I receive it by faith. You've
promised that you will be with me and I receive it by faith.” So, even as God has promised, as
we pray, may we walk in the fulfillment of the promises that God has made. Let's pray, Father,
we thank you for your word, we thank you for your promise that you will always be with us, you
will never let go of us. We thank you for the assurance that we are never alone. When we have
or face these trials and tribulations, we are never alone for you are with us, to take us through
and bring us to the other side. We thank you for the fulfillment of these promises, we give you
all the praise and glory, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
