Shalom and thank you for joining us for another episode of Living Supernaturally. We hope the current series of being an instrument in God's hands is helping and is really making you meditate on things that will help you to be an effective instrument as God calls you. As an instrument in God's hands, we are called to bear His name, meaning we represent God, we represent Jesus in all that we do, in all that God is calling us to do. So, what does it mean to bear His name? To bear His name means to represent God in our lives, in our actions and in our words. It means that we are His followers, we carry His identity, we carry His authority and purpose wherever we go. Bearing His name means like we are ambassadors, we represent God. It is being a representative of God to others. We see an example of Paul, how he was used as an instrument by God's hands to bear the name of God to all the Gentiles. Meaning that he would do all things for the cause of making known God to the Gentiles. We see the Lord telling Ananis regarding Paul in Acts chapter 9 and verse 15, it reads, ‘but the Lord said to Ananias, “go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.”’ Paul proclaimed God's name, He bore God's name by living as a faithful servant, as an ambassador and a witness for Christ. His entire life after his conversion was dedicated to representing Jesus, spreading the gospel and enduring hardships for the glory of God. So, how do you and I bear the name of God and how can we be instruments? It is by honoring God in our actions and living with integrity whether it is in our work or in our school, it's at home, it's in our relationships. Bearing His name means to love Him and to serve others by showing the love of God. Bearing His name means to stand firm in faith and become a witness for Christ everywhere and in every circumstance. It also means to become examples of Christ to others. We bear His name when we minister to others through spiritual gifts, we stand as witnesses to His power. As an instrument to be used by God for the purpose of showcasing Him, make Him the most important person in your life and then we would be bearing His name to those outside. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, even as we are called to be your instruments, may we bear your name by honoring you in all that we do, by being an example, by being witnesses by being able to show your love to others. We pray that you will continue to enable us to bear your name faithfully, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
